Tuckahoe Plantation Stables is truly unique in that it is one of the very few multi-discipline barns found in the eastern part of Goochland County. Located on an historic estate, easily reached from Patterson Avenue and 288, our boarders have access to miles of trails through fields and woods, with some trails overlooking the majestic James River from high bluffs or by the water’s edge. For those who are in training, we have a lighted sand jumping arena and a large sand dressage arena. Our caring and helpful staff includes barn manager Susan Donovan, who has over 35 years of experience as a horsewoman and barn manager, Holly Donovan, Molly Gentry and Brad Collins, all of whom help to maintain our full-service facility. With this top team you can be assured of the best possible care for your equine companion. For your convenience, we have weekly appointments with our barn farrier, DJ Smith, and monthly standing appointments with Dr. Scott Anderson of Woodside Equine Clinic. Of course, you are welcome to use your own farrier and Susan and her team have a great working relationship with all local veterinarians.
